About Us

We grew up in a neighborhood gas station business when your mechanic was considered part of the family and old fashioned service wasn’t old fashioned thirty years ago. We would pump gas, at full service, check the oil, and wash the windows. We performed all mechanical repairs, made service calls and established life-long relationships with our customers.

The neighborhood gas station was a friendly place to visit where everybody had a smile and it was not uncommon to share a cup of coffee and talk about the day’s events. Although our world has changed around us we have stayed true to our roots. Old fashioned quality service with a smile. We stood behind our repairs and were always available to help.

We formed John & Scott’s Automotive Repair Specialists, Inc. and began performing quality Automotive Repairs in Palatine in September 1992. We now employee ASE Certified Technicians who use state of the art diagnostic equipment. Our dedicated staff prides themselves on solving the most complex automotive problems on all foreign and domestic cars and light trucks. From routine maintenance to in-depth computer diagnostics we do it all. Although life has sped up to an alarming pace, we still offer that friendly neighborhood gas station feel and treat your car as if it was our own.
